Various institutions (circles) are engaged in joint activities, which shall promote the public understanding of science and technology. The participating institutions are members of various color coded fields:
Enterprises (purple), schools (light green), lobbies (blue), universities (orange), political organisations (yellow), museums (teal), media (turquoise), non-university research (red), non-governmental organizations (dark plum).
The color-distribution shows at one glance the interconnectedness between various fields: political organisations (as for example ministries) are located in the centre of the network, universities and non-university-research are strongly tied together, whereas enterprises play a peripheral role, particularly connected with the field of media.
