Network Analysis of Co-Publishing data within a certain scientific field. To give overview and orientation of a world that otherwise consists of tables, diagrams and databases network analysis was used to identify key actors (key opinion leader, key decision maker) among authors of opposing traits (cluster analysis) in a certain scholarly field or across scholarly fields. It also allows the analysis of historically grown trust, influence, interest and power. The size of the nodes (circles) corresponds to the influence of actors in the field. The strength of lines shows the intensity of co-publishing between two authors.

Data Source: PubMed - online database. Publications in various journals of a field from 1998-2004; graph reduction to 1306 authors and 475 journals.
