| What happens when something actually happens? FAS.research uses network analytical techniques of visualization and computation to test infrastructure systems such as energy and water lines, traffic systems, communication and IP networks, etc. for their weak spots (vulnerability research). On the basis of a number of modern network indicators models and scenarios are developed for an improved management of risks and catastrophes. In computer-animated simulations preventive measures are described which in the worst-case scenario increase resilience, stability and the regenerative capacity of infrastructure networks. FAS.research develops plans and topographies, describing the appearance of crisis-safe networks, and how existing network structures can be optimized in terms of security technology. In the worst-case scenario damage is minimized and the functioning and performance of the entire system is maintained. |
