Description
Client: Austrian Council For Research and Technology Development, Austrian Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour, Austrian Research Promotion Agency
Challenge:
Our clients needed to know the differences in men's and women's knowledge networks in the basic research community to help shape funding strategies.
Solution:
FAS.research analyzed the knowledge networks of men and women in basic research and identified differences in network patterns based on gender. In addition, FAS identified the strengths, weaknesses and innovation potential of network patterns of each gender.
Results:
FAS' strategy maps shaped our clients' strategic plan. This map shows the connectedness of disclipines through research projects which were coordinated by female (red dots and links) and male researchers (white dots and links). Red Areas indicate scientific fields with a high amount of research done by women while white areas are more dominated by men.
